Our Current Look In North Texas at 5:34 PM
We had our very short break from the rain during some of the morning hours, which honestly didn't last long at all. Heavy rain continues to develop and move to the northeast producing very torrential rainfall. Many locations and personal rain gauges across the metro have measured over two inches of rain since this morning, and the rain is not even over yet. In fact, a cold front is moving through the area as we speak, which will cause temperatures to drop drastically this evening. Some places have drop to the mid 40s for the areas on the backside of the front. In fact, some places to the west might even begin seeing freezing rain, and that will be a concern for tomorrow, mainly for the areas to the west of DFW. A flood warning is now in effect for Denton, Tarrant, Collin, and Dallas counties this evening. Some minor flooding will be possible this evening with an additional 1-2 inches this evening. Some thunder is possible, but severe weather is not expected, and flooding will continue to remain the greatest threat. See the other blog posts concerning tomorrow for more details. |
